I like motor cars! When the era of Clarkson, May and Hammond ended on “Top Gear” in the UK, and they were snapped up for “The Grand Tour”, I wondered what would happen next. Well, if you’re into your cars like I am, I’m gonna guess you liked the opening scene of the new series:
If the video for this was a feast for car-lovers’ eyes, the choice of soundtrack was sublime: Hothouse Flowers’ version of I Can See Clearly Now fitted the narrative perfectly.
I’d been aware of The Hothouse Flowers for a while – I always loved their early single Don’t Go - but this re-working of a song originally by Johnny Nash really stands out.

Ah...col...the "flowers" great band..seen dem live once & dey wer terrific...dey started their careers as buskers in grafton St. Dublin..,& wer known as " the incomprale benzini brothers". ( hope I spelled dat right)....seen their 1st performance on the Late late show wit gay Byrne. & I liked dem immediately...I can see clearly now was taken from their album "HOME" & well worth a listen..Liam is a great vocalist.......,& the guitar player (I'm not e enough go na attempt 2 spell name,) is a musical genius...2 very nice blokes.. enjoyed ur post col.....clarkeson is a joy 2 watch....
